MTA Worker In Forest Hills Attacked By Woman At Subway Station: NYPD

A woman threw an "unknown substance" that burned an MTA worker at a Forest Hills subway station last week, police said.

The 36-year-old MTA employee and a woman were on the mezzanine at the 75th Avenue subway station when the straphanger threw an unknown substance at the worker that left his face burning on April 18 around 5:50 p.m., the NYPD said.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A woman threw an "unknown substance" that burned an MTA worker in a Forest Hills subway station last week, police said.

The 36-year-old MTA employee and a woman were on the mezzanine at the 75th Avenue subway station when the straphanger threw some type of liquid at the worker that left his face burning on April 18 around 5:50 p.m., the NYPD said.

The woman fled, and she was last seen at the 71st Avenue-Forest Hills subway station, authorities said.

Patch reached out to NYPD officials for clarification on the "unknown substance."

The MTA employee was taken to Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital for treatment, according to police.

The woman is 5 feet 6 inches, tall, and weighs about 175 pounds, the NYPD said. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and blue, and white sneakers, as well as carrying a pink bag, authorities said.

Police released images of the woman on Friday.
