The National At Forest Hills Stadium: What To Know Before October's Show
The National plays Forest Hills Stadium for an October show. Here's what to bring, what to leave at home and how to get to the stadium.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Fans of indie rock outfit The National will have the chance to see the five-man band perform at Forest Hills Stadium on Oct. 6, featuring an opening performance by Daughter.
Tickets are available through the stadium website.
The National has partnered with PLUS1 to give $1 from every ticket to The Melting Pot Foundation USA, an organization dedicated to “improving outcomes for marginalized communities of Brownsville, Brooklyn through job training, community organizing resources and access to delicious, healthy, affordable food,” according to the stadium website.

Prices range from $58.50 to $83.50. If tickets are still available on the night of the concert, the box office on Burns Street will be open for sales.

What time does the festival open?
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by opening artist Daughter. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
Where is the concert?
The concert takes place at Forest Hills Stadium, located at 1 Tennis Pl. in Forest Hills. According to the stadium’s website, the best way to reach the venue is by public transportation.
Public transportation options include the LIRR, which riders can take using the code FHS2017 when purchasing train tickets, allowing such riders to ride the LIRR for free to the stadium. Ticket holders can also take the E, F, M or R train, 14-minute rides from Penn Station and 25-minute rides from Midtown.
There is no parking at the venue or on the streets near the venue.
What is the bag policy?
Guests are allowed to bring a bag, but the maximum allowable bag size is 16 by 16 by 8 inches, which means that, per the Forest Hills Stadium website, most small, soft-sided bags and purses will be allowed. All guests and their bags will be subject to security screenings, and there is no bag or coat check inside the venue.
What can’t I bring?
- Outside food and beverage is prohibited. There will be a variety of food and beverages, including alcohol, for purchase inside the stadium. Each guest entering the stadium may bring in one factory-sealed plastic water bottle sized 40 ounces or less.
- Smoking, including vape pens
- Hard-sided containers, including coolers, briefcases and ice chests
- Blankets and umbrellas
- Chairs and strollers
- Weapons
- Laser pointers or glow sticks
- Video or audio-recording equipment, including professional cameras
- Pets
- Incendiary devices
- Camelbacks
- Large backpacks or duffel bags
- Drones
- Spray paint, markers, Sharpies and paint pens
- Frisbees
