Nonprofit To Open Forest Park Bike Education Center

Bike New York's new Forest Park education center will offer free learn-to-ride classes for kids when it opens later this month.

FOREST PARK, QUEENS — The non-profit Bike New York is opening a new education center in Forest Park in Queens on July 20.

The Forest Park Community Bike Education Center at Victory Field will offer free learn-to-ride classes for adults and kids, as well as free after-school and summer camp programs on the mechanics of riding a bike and the rules of the road.

Helmets and bikes are provided for adults' learn-to-ride classes and youth programs.

"Bike New York's Community Bike Education Centers become great neighborhood focal points for fun, healthy events, from cycling skills classes to community bike rides," Bike New York President and CEO Ken Podziba said in a statement.

"We’re delighted to bring our newest center, with our free programs that transform lives of kids and adults, to beautiful Forest Park."
