City Council District 29 Election Results: Karen Koslowitz Wins
POLLS CLOSED: City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz will represent city council's 23rd district for another term after running uncontested.

FOREST HILLS, NY -- City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz will keep her seat in the city council's 29th District for another term after running uncontested this year, the New York Times reported.
Koslowitz won nearly 98 percent of the vote with more than 96 percent of the vote counted, according to unofficial results from the New York City Board of Elections. She will continue to represent District 29, which covers Rego Park, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens and Richmond Hill.
In the mayoral race, incumbent Democrat Bill de Blasio defended his seat, the New York Times reported. De Blasio won roughly 66 percent of the vote with around 98 percent of the vote counted, according to the BOE. His top competitor, Republican Nicole Malliotakis, won nearly 28 percent of the vote, according to the BOE.

Also on the citywide ticket Tuesday, Comptroller Scott Stringer and Public Advocate Letitia James, both Democrats, won second terms over Republicans Michel Faulkner and J.C. Polanco, respectively.
