QUEENS, NY — Paris is hosting the 2024 Olympic Games, but this summer the "Queens Olympics" are coming to Forest Park.
Queens Running Collective, a coalition of the borough's running groups, is hosting the second annual running-focused Queens Olympics on Saturday, Aug. 13 in Forest Park.
The family-friendly track meet will feature individual and relay races for children and adults alike, ranging from a kids 100 meter dash to a 1 mile adult race plus several different relays.

People of varying running abilities are welcome to participate in the event, which is free for children and costs $10 per adult, organizers said.
Participating athletes can sign up as individuals or a team and will have the chance at checkout to select which event — or events — they plan to race in, according to the running coalition.

Like the Olympic Games, the top three finishers in each event will win medals. All participating children will get a medal, too.
The games will begin at 9 a.m. and wrap up around 11 a.m., directly followed by a community celebration at Neir's Tavern in nearby Woodhaven.
