There will also be a virtual reality activity to teach kids about trash collection.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A pop-up library will fill a Forest Hills park with books and activities this weekend.

Rego Park Green Alliance Studio is bringing the addition to McDonald Park on June 18th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

There will be around 200 books placed around the park from various genres, including science fiction, international voices, kids' books, home and garden and contemporary fiction, organizers said. Visitors will be allowed to read the books but can't take them home.

Each section will have its own curator who will buy the books for their genre. Some have been donated to the RPGA by community members.

Aside from reading, visitors will get to enjoy puzzles and games in the children's section and a virtual reality tour will be teach kids how garbage is handled in the city. The 3-D tour will follow garbage trucks as they pick up trash around the city. The tour will end with the garbage being – virtually – dumped onto the observers as they stand inside a landfill, RPGA Founder Yvonne Shortt said.
