Queens Artists Called To Submit Work For Forest Hills Art Crawl

The event will be part art crawl, part small business tour, in an effort to support local artists and Forest Hills shops simultaneously.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A small business coalition is calling on Queens artists to submit work for the neighborhood's first-ever Metropolitan Avenue art crawl.

Metro Village of Forest Hills, a small business alliance that formed amid the pandemic, is hosting the Metropolitan Avenue of Art Spring Event on May 14th.

The event, which is part art crawl part small business tour, will consist of casual receptions hosted at 10 Metropolitan Avenue businesses — each of which will display pieces of work made by local artists.

Though the event will only last from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the art installations will remain on display through May 22nd, with a chance for locals to buy pieces at their leisure.

To submit art for the event, Queens-based artists should fill out a brief form by April 3rd, detailing their medium of art and a few other questions, organizers said, noting that submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Up to 10 artists will be selected and contacted via email, organizers said.
