FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A family-owned pet shop is expanding in Queens, opening its second location on Austin Street.
Pet Club is slated to open on April 1 at 71-24 Austin Street, replacing an ice cream shop that shuttered in January.
Pet Club’s first location is stationed at 30-28 Steinway Street in Astoria, which opened in 2016.

The store's co-owner, Rameez Tahir, grew up in Kew Gardens and remembers how the now-closed pet shop Pet Land in Forest Hills helped pet owners around the area.
"I've been looking for a spot on Austin Street ever since Pet Land closed down, but the rents were ridiculously high," Tahir told Patch.

He said that once the ice cream shop closed, he managed to grab the spot.
The store sells organic pet food, toys, and shampoos.
