Queens Food Pantries To Help Families Feed Their Pets

The Queens Borough President's Office and the ASPCA are donating nearly 67,000 pounds worth of dog and cat food to local pantries.

QUEENS, NY — The Queens Borough President's Office and the ASPCA are donating nearly 67,000 pounds worth of dog and cat food to Queens families in need of help feeding their pets.

Starting Thursday, food pantries across the borough will distribute 2,2520 bags of dog and cat food donated by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in partnership with Action Queens Borough President Sharon Lee.

“Pets are deeply loved in the Borough of Families, but for those struggling to make ends meet, providing for furry family members can be even more challenging,” Lee said. “Queens is deeply grateful to the ASPCA for this timely donation in our all-encompassing push to stem the tide of food insecurity.”
