Queens Residents Flock To Nassau's Reopened Hair Salons: Report
Queens residents eager to get their roots done are heading to newly-reopened salons just past the Nassau County border, Newsday reported.
FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Queens residents eager to get their roots done are flocking to newly-reopened hair salons just past the Nassau County border, according to one news report.
Forest Hills resident Boris Nektalov, who owns Bam Style in New Hyde Park, told Newsdaythat Queens residents are rushing to fill his salon's appointment slots.
"Demand is actually very high,” Nektalov told Newsday. “We actually have been getting a lot more phone calls from Queens.”

It's the same story at the nearby Lakeville Hair Studio, where owner Francesca Lisio is seeing greater interest from Queens residents, Newsday reported.
"Clients that were coming from Queens, now they're recommending their friends," Lisio told Newsday.

Under Gov. Andrew Cuomo's plan to incrementally reopen the state, which assesses regions using several pandemic-related metrics, New York City retailers are limited to pickup orders. In-store shopping and services are prohibited.
Meanwhile, Long Island businesses can now have in-store shoppers and hair salons and barbershops can operate at 50-percent capacity.
