Specialized Medical Center To Replace Shops On Austin Street: Report

An ear, nose, and throat center is slated to open where Eddie Bauer and Title Boxing currently stand, the Commercial Observer reported.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A specialized medical center is slated to move into an Austin Street building this fall, possibly replacing two existing businesses, according to a report.

Summit Health is planning to open a new ear, nose, and throat medicine center at 7000 Austin Street — a building spanning the commercial corridor between 69 and 70 Road that is currently home to several shops including Target and Starbucks, the Commercial Observer reported.

The new medical space would be built at the site of Eddie Bauer and Title Boxing, according to the real estate site.

"The office will bring additional high-quality specialty medical services to the residents of Forest Hills and nearby areas," Jason Muss, president of the development company, told the Commercial Observer in a statement.

The need for accessible healthcare — hospital beds, specifically — is a recurrent issue in Forest Hills and was a major part of current City Council Member Lynn Schulman's campaign last fall.
