Summertime At The Library: Free Children's Programs This Weekend
As the school year looms near, the Queens Library offers a bounty of free programs for Forest Hills kids.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Just a few more weekends remain before the first day of school on Sept. 7, making these next few weekends that much more valuable as summer tip-toes into the final month before parents and kids begin their back-to-school shopping — and Patch is here to help.
Patch offers a few ways that Forest Hills children and parents can seize the day with their little ones (and not-so-little ones) at the Queens Library, located at 108-19 71st Ave., where summer fun and learning combine.
Here’s what’s happening through the weekend:

Children at least 5 years old can join their parents for a free film screening every Saturday throughout the month of August. On Aug. 5, the library will show “The Tale of Despereaux,” rated G. The film is 93 minutes long, and the program is set for 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. No registration is required.
On Aug. 7, parents can bring their infants and toddlers, ages 3 to 17 months, for stories, songs, rhymes, movement games, books and toys. Parents will also have the opportunity to socialize with fellow parents and caregivers and share parenting tips. The program is scheduled for 10 to 10:30 a.m. Registration is not required.
