FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A delivery worker shot and killed in Forest Hills will be honored at a candlelit vigil Wednesday evening.

The vigil comes about ten days after Zhiwen Yan, 45, was gunned down mid shift. It will be held at 7 p.m. in front of Great Wall, the Queens Boulevard restaurant where Yan worked delivery for many years, which only recently reopened after his killing.

Organizers said the vigil is a chance to gather together in honor of Yan, who has been remembered as a caring neighbor and loving father.

As of this week, Yan's murder remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, the NYPD said.

Law enforcement sources, though, told multiple outlets last week that a disgruntled customer is wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting.

Outraged by a series of high profile killings in Forest Hills, and the government's so-called inaction, the Guardian Angels took to the streets of Forest Hills last week to promote public safety.

"The swagger man, the Mayor Eric Adams, he's got no plan," Curtis Sliwa, Guardian Angels founder and GOP mayoral candidate, said in a New York Post video taken outside of Great Wall during which he blamed the mayor and Brooklyn men for increased crime in Forest Hills.

Other politicians have also visited the neighborhood following Yan's killing, including U.S. Rep. Grace Meng and City Council Member Lynn Schulman.

The two leaders visited this week along with officers from the 112th Precinct, according to a news release, and talked with Queens Boulevard business owners about neighborhood safety.

"This was such a horrible and senseless tragedy, and we are confident that the person responsible will be apprehended and brought to justice," the leaders said in a statement. "Zhiwen Yan was well known and beloved by many in the community, and our hearts continue to ache for his family."

Meng is currently working to help secure a visa for the mother of Yan’s wife so that she can travel to New York from China to attend the funeral, which has been scheduled for May 24, according to the news release.
