Walgreens In Forest Hills To Shutter, Stretching Chain Closure Wave

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — A Walgreens in Forest Hills will shutter next week, leaving two other locations of the pharmacy chain in the neighborhood.
The pharmacy located at 63-37 108th Street will close on Feb. 20, and recommends customers refill their new prescriptions at the closest Walgreens location at 10425 Queens Boulevard.
A store employee confirmed that most of the items at the closing Walgreens will be sent to other locations of the pharmacy chain.

Walgreens did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Patch.
An employee told Queens Chronicle that the store failed to get a new lease.

A slew of pharmacy chain stores has closed in Queens in the last year. The Forest Hills Rite Aid shuttered in April 2022, as well as several Walgreens stores.
