WATCH: Gunman Attacks Valet Worker, Takes Car In Rego Park Garage
Shocking video footage shows the thief pistol whip a valet worker after pulling a gun on him and demanding keys to a car.
REGO PARK, QUEENS -- Police are searching for the gunman who stole a car from a Rego Park garage in broad daylight Saturday and pistol whipped a valet worker who tried to stop him.
The man is caught on tape walking up to a 59-year-old valet worker inside the parking garage at 92-77 Queens Blvd. and asking him for a set of keys just before 2:30 p.m. When the worker refused him a car, he pulled out a handgun, cops said.
Video surveillance then shows the worker attempt to escape into a stairwell. He's followed by the thief, shown hitting the man with the handgun and briefly pointing it at his head as he tries to drag him back into the garage area.

The perp is then shown running back into the garage, where he hopped into a four-door Kia Sportage with the keys already inside and sped away. He drove the dark colored car west on Queens Boulevard, police said.
Medics later arrived at the scene to treat the valet worker for gashes to his head.
