Water Service At Rego Park Undergoes 4-Day Interruptions Amid Repairs
The city will temporarily turn off water service on Ellwell Crescent between Alderton Street and 65th Dr. starting on Tuesday, April 11.

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — Residents in Rego Park will have to hold off on water usage for two days as the city upgrades the water main infrastructure in the neighborhood.
The city will temporarily turn off water service on Ellwell Crescent between Alderton Street and 65th Dr. starting on Tuesday, April 11 until Friday, April 14, according to the Department of Design and Construction.
The interruptions will last from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during all four days.

The Department of Environmental Protection will be “on site testing water main valves within this location,” reads the notice by the Department of Design and Construction.
Residents in affected areas are recommended to store water for cooking and cleaning before the shutdown.

Once the water is back on, residents should run all sink and tub faucets for 15 to 30 minutes to flush the plumbing.
