1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized By Nassau House Fire
The fire started early this morning. Reports say seven other people were left homeless by the blaze.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — One person was killed and another hospitalized by a fire in Hempstead this morning, according to reports.
The fire started around 6:30 this morning in the second-floor bedroom of a multi-family home at 103 Front St. The Hempstead, South Hempstead, West Hempstead, Uniondale and Roosevelt fire departments all responded to fight the fire.
A woman was killed in the blaze, and a man was hospitalized with burns to his face, hands and arms. Another man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries to his ankles from jumping out of a second-floor window.

Five adults and two children were displaced by the fire, but are receiving assistance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
