20 Garden City Athletes Pledge To Play For College
The students were recognized by the district as they pledge to continue their athletic careers at college next year.

GARDEN CITY, NY — On Nov. 9, Garden City High School participated in Commitment Day with 20 senior student-athletes signing to universities where they will continue their athletic careers.
The ceremony started with a warm welcome from Garden City’s Director of Athletics, Ed Ramirez. Students were then asked one by one to join their families in front of the crowd to officially sign.
The district congratulates the following students on their athletic achievement: Jack Archer who will attend Lehigh University for lacrosse, Kevin Blum who will attend Franklin & Marshall University for football, Patrick Blum who will attend Lafayette College for lacrosse, Anna Bransfield who will attend The Catholic University of America for lacrosse, Marie Cacciabaudo who will attend Virginia Tech University for lacrosse, Maya Costa who will attend Siena College for soccer, Andrew Crescuillo who will attend Washington University for football, Stephen Finnell who will attend Duke University for lacrosse, Katie Gaven who will attend Marist University for lacrosse, Rory Heslin who will attend Wake Forest University for field hockey, Grace Hopkins who will attend University of Chicago for lacrosse, Ava Lekanides who will attend Queens University of Charlotte for soccer, Tristan Mullahey who will attend the U.S. Naval Academy for lacrosse, Sheila Mullins who will attend Bentley University for field hockey, Robert Patrissi who will attend University of Scranton for soccer, Christian Pica who will attend Loyola University Maryland for soccer, Cecelia “CeCe” Van Blenis who will attend University of Mary Washington for lacrosse, Robert “RJ” Votruba who will attend Middlebury College for football, Cole Webber who will attend University of Virginia for lacrosse, and Mackenzie Wehrum who will attend Saint Anselm College for field hockey.
