Duo In ICE Custody After $7.6K Necklace Stolen, Grand Larceny: Police
Police say officers responded to Neiman Marcus for a larceny in Nov.
EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — Two individuals were arrested after reportedly stealing an expensive gold necklace on Nov. 24 in East Garden City; they have since been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, police said.
Nassau County police said the grand larceny occurred at 3:51 p.m. Officers responded to Neiman Marcus on Old Country Road, police said.
Two men were observed via video surveillance manipulating a display case and taking a gold necklace valued at $7,665 USC, NCPD said.

According to police, the men passed all points of purchase without paying and left in an unknown direction.
Police said a thorough investigation led to the arrests of Maspeth residents Victor Manuel Riveros Ruiz, 48, and Ludy Esperanza Ardila Mogollon, 49.

They were both charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and were issued appearance tickets returnable to Hempstead, police said.
According to NCPD, they were both illegally in the U.S. and subject to removal proceedings. ICE took custody of them, police said.
