9/11 Remembrance Service, Musical History Tour This Week

What's on tap this week in Garden City.

Blood Drive: The Long Island Volunteer Center (LIVC) is again teaming up with the Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center to host a blood drive Monday, Sept. 9, at the museum in E. Garden City. The blood drive begins at 2 p.m. today. Read more about it later this morning.

Library Board Meeting: There will be a regular meeting of the Garden City Public Library board of trustees on Monday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the small meeting room on the lower level of the Garden City Public Library.

CPOA Meeting: The next general meeting of the Central Property Owners' Association (CPOA) will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the senior center on Golf Club Lane beginning at 8 p.m.

Estates POA Meeting: The next general meeting of the Property Owners' Association of Garden City Estates will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Stratford School beginning at 8 p.m.

9/11 Remembrance Service: To commemorate the twelfth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Garden City Fire Department will hold a ceremony of remembrance Wednesday on the Village Green. Read more about it later this morning.

Musical History Tour: Friends of the Garden City Public Library will sponsor a free concert, “A Musical History Tour of Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop & Pop,” performed by The Vic Vincent Group on Thursday, Sept 12, at 2 p.m. at Garden City Public Library. Click here for more details.
