Assault, Robbery On NICE Bus In East Garden City: Police

Nehemiah Taylor was taken into custody after fleeing the bus near Roosevelt Field, police said.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — An assault took place Wednesday morning on a NICE bus at Roosevelt Field, police said.

The male victim's cell phone was robbed after he was struck with a blunt object, police said.

Nehemiah Taylor, 30, of Elmont, exited the bus and fled on foot toward the mall, authorities said.

Police canvassed the area and located Taylor.

He was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Taylor was expected to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
