Nassau Man Throws Loaded Gun From Vehicle: Police

The weapon was recovered leading to Daniel Lim's arrest. He faces charges that include criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A Bethpage man was arrested on Friday evening after he discarded a loaded gun prior to a traffic stop in Carle Place, police said.

Daniel Lim, 34, was initially pulled over for failing to use a turn signal on Jericho Turnpike, police said.

As officers activated their emergency lights, Lim kept driving and threw a dark item from his vehicle, police said.

Lim ultimately stopped his vehicle at Glen Cove Road and Old Westbury Road. Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, pills, believed to be ecstasy, and a substance, believed to psilocybin mushrooms, authorities said.

He is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Lim was arraigned on Saturday.
