Blakeman Begins Transition Process, Seeks New Hires
The county executive-elect named his chief deputy and transition head, and is looking for residents to hire for his new administration.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — County Executive-elect Bruce Blakeman has begun the process of setting up his new administration, and is seeking applications from residents who want to help.
On Tuesday, Blakeman named Christopher McGrath, a partner at the law firm Sullivan Papain Block McGrath Coffinas & Cannavo, as the head of his transition team. McGrath is a law professor at Hofstra University and also serves as a lecturer for bar associations and law schools.
In addition, Blakeman appointed Floral Park native Arthur Walsh to be his chief deputy county executive. Walsh is the current general counsel for Nassau Off-Track Betting.

"My team is united in our mission to protect taxpayer's wallets, grow our economy, make Nassau safer, create jobs, protect parents rights and so much more," Blakeman said. "I look forward to working with Presiding Officer [Richard] Nicolello, as well as Chris and Arthur, and with other Republican and Democratic officials to make a positive impact in the lives of all Nassau residents.”
To help with the transition, Blakeman's team has created a web portal where interested people can apply for positions in his administration. Applicants under serious consideration will have a review of their employment, legal and educational history. There will also be considerations for possible conflicts of interest, and some positions may require disclosure of financial holdings and sources of income.
