Debate Commission Says Donald Trump's Mic Had 'Issues' In Debate Hall

The GOP nominee has been complaining about his microphone quality since Monday's debate at Hofstra University.

The Commission on Debates admitted in a one-sentence statement Friday afternoon that Donald Trump's microphone at Monday's Hofstra University debate had some issues that affected the audio in the debate hall.

"Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump's audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall," the statement said in full.

The statement did not mention whether the issue affected audio heard by the nearly 87 million people who watched the debate on television.

Trump has said his microphone had problems this week in the wake of the first three debates.

"And they also had, gave me a defective mic. Did you notice that? My mic was defective within the room," Trump said earlier this week. "No, but I wonder, was that on purpose? Was that on purpose? But I had a mic that wasn't worked properly, with, working properly within the room."

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and her camp have accused Trump of making excuses for his debate performance.

"Anybody who complains about the microphone is not having a good night," she said this week.
