Friends Book Sale, E-Waste Collection This Week

What's on tap this week in Garden City.

Annual Mother Daughter Dinner Dance: The event will benefit the DeCrescito Family Trust. Christopher DeCrescito was driving home from work earlier this year and was killed in a crash by a speeding drunk driver. His wife, Denise, a fellow Garden City Girl Scout Service Member, suffers from multiple sclerosis and is in a wheelchair. They have three young children who attend St. Anne's. Election Day: Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Village offices will be closed. Village Sanitation/Recycling schedule will continue under a normal collection schedule.

Village Board Meeting: The Garden City Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, Nov. 7 in the village hall boardroom to discuss a full agenda.

BOE Work Session: The Garden City Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Administration Building on Cathedral Avenue at 8:15 p.m.

E-Waste Collection: Please call the Village Yard directly (465-4031/4032) to schedule collection of all e-waste items including computers, televisions, DVD players and VCRs. Collection day is Thursday, Nov. 7. The Municipal Service Yard is located at 2 Cherry Valley Avenue, Garden City. Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 9-11:45 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friends Book Sale: A bargain book sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. Click here for more information.
