Nassau Car Fire Deemed Arson; Person Fled: Police

GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — Police report an arson took place early Monday in a car in Garden City Park.

A 23-year-old man called 911 just after 3 a.m. about a car fire in the driveway of his Second Street residence, police said.

An investigation revealed an unknown person was seen running from the victim's driveway, fleeing on foot eastbound on Second Street, police said.

The 2012 BMW sustained heavy fire damage. The New Hyde Park Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
