Garden City Library Board Welcomes New Trustee

Mary Maguire joins the Library Board after volunteering to support the organization for years.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Mary Maguire, a longtime volunteer and president of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library, was sworn in as a Library Board Trustee at the meeting on Oct. 17. Board Chairman J. Randolph Colahan did the honors.

Maguire, whose term expires Dec. 31, 2026, joins Colahan, Vice Chair Peter D’Antonio and Trustees Lola Nouryan and Germaine Greco on the board.

“I am greatly honored to have the opportunity to serve as a trustee for the Garden City Library," Maguire said. "I wish to thank the Eastern POA and the mayor for entrusting me with this commission.”

Maguire has volunteered for the Friends of the Garden City Public Library for seven years, served as a director for five years and treasurer and president for the past year. She also presents art lectures at the library.

"I would like to officially welcome Mary to the board and look forward to working with her,” Colahan said. “The board appreciates her dedication to the library.”
