Garden City Library Installs State-of-the-Art A/V Equipment
Purchase made through "bullet aid" secured by Sen. Kemp Hannon.
During the fiscal year 2012-13, the Garden City Public Library received $10,000 in Senate Library Bullet Aid from Sen. Kemp Hannon.
This bullet aid was used to purchase and install a ceiling mounted projector, movie screen, Blu-ray player and sound system for the Small Meeting Room on the lower level of the Library as well as a movie screen for the Storytime Room in the Children’s Department.
The audio visual equipment in the Small Meeting Room will enable Library staff and Garden City community organizations to give PowerPoint presentations and show movies during their programs. The movie screen in the Storytime Room will enhance children’s programming. The installation of this new state-of-the-art equipment was completed on Aug. 12.
“We appreciate all the assistance and support we have received from Senator Kemp Hannon through the years,” said J. Randolph Colahan, chairman of the Library Board of Trustees. “Despite the cutbacks in the state budget, Senator Hannon has continually come through for the Garden City Public Library and the people of Garden City.”
