Garden City Park School Opens New Inclusive Playground

The playground is designed so that all children can play together.

GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — The New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District recently hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Garden City Park School’s new inclusive playground.

The playground – which is in the school’s colors of blue, yellow and white – was built to allow children of all ages and abilities to play together. It is wheelchair accessible; surrounded by soft grass turf; and promotes physical, cognitive, sensory and social skills.

Student Council President Lillian Yu expressed her excitement for the new playground and thanked the construction workers and administrators. She also assisted in cutting the ribbon.

The slight chill in the air did not lessen the excitement, as the students in attendance cheerfully explored their new playground once the ribbon was cut.
