Garden City Pool Kicks Off Summer Season With Festival
The mayor encourages homeowners to water newly planted trees on their property.
GARDEN CITY, NY — Another reminder that summer is on the way. The Garden City Pool is officially open for the season on Saturday, June 8.
Following that, the village will host its first Garden City Kick Off Summer Festival on Friday evening, June 14.
Residents of all ages will find fun in live music, a bounce house, balloon twisters and giveaways, just to name a few of the activities.

While the community can get wet and stay cool at the pool this summer, village trees aren't as fortunate.
Mayor Mary Carter Flanagan encourages homeowners to water trees if they were recently planted.

"If your tree can’t be reached with a hose, a bucket full of water every two-three days will suffice," she said.
The village's watering hours are from 5-10 a.m. and 6-10 p.m. Odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days and even-numbered addresses can water their lawns on even-numbered days
