Garden City Pool Opens Saturday

The Garden City Pool officially opens for its 57th year of fun in the sun at noon Saturday.

"Hopefully the weather will cooperate but we'll be ready to go," said Kevin Ocker, chair of the board of commissioners of cultural and recreational affairs.

Saturday's forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of showers with a high near 77 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Due to the recreation department's new software program, it is necessary that all pool members have new pool passes and photos this year. The Pool Photo Center opened May 27 to accommodate residents. Remaining days and hours are as follows: 

• Saturday, June 8: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Sunday, June 9: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Beginning Monday, June 10, the Photo Center will be open during Pool operating hours for the duration of the season
