80s Night, Senior Citizen Day on Tap This Week

Senior Citizen Day at the GC Pool: The Garden City Pool opens at 10 a.m. for senior members and at noon for senior resident non-members Monday to celebrate Senior Citizen Day. All other regular guest fees apply. Music will be provided by "Paul Cuneo Quartet" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Half price on selected items at the Snack Bar will be offered between 11 a.m. and noon.

Movie Night at the GC Pool: The Garden City Pool will be showing "Hocus Pocus" in the picnic area beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Adventureland Trip: Garden City Recreation and Parks will conduct a trip to Adventureland Amusement Park in Farmingdale on Thursday, Aug. 6. This trip is open to children who reside in Garden City. The trip will leave from Grove and Hemlock park around 11 a.m. and will arrive at Adventureland around noon. Children will enjoy three hours of unlimited rides and will depart Adventureland at 3 p.m. The bus will return to the parks around 4 p.m. Transportation will be provided by Recreation Department bus and supervision will be provided by the recreation staff. Cost: $20 per child. Trip must be paid in cash only - no checks will be accepted. Registrations are now being accepted at the parks listed. Payment must accompany the registration. Summer Concert: Thursday night's free summer concert on the Village Green will feature the music of North Shore POPS. Show starts at 7:15 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall at St. Paul’s School. Please call the Recreation Office at 465-4075 if you have any questions pertaining to the concert.

80s Night at the GC Pool: It's 80s Night at the Garden City Pool on Friday! A DJ will play all the favorites and the snack bar will have specials on popcorn shrimp/chicken combos as well as virgin tropical drink specials beginning at 7:30 p.m.
