LONG ISLAND, NY — Memorial Day weekend is going to start off rainy, but then clear up and become pretty close to perfect.

According to the National Weather Service, rain could come to the area tonight and into tomorrow. But it's likely to start Friday night. Forecasts say there's also a chance of thunderstorms Friday afternoon and night. Those showers and thunderstorms could continue into Saturday, but would taper off by Saturday night.

But after the rain, it's clear and sunny skies. Sunday will be sunny with a high around 77, and Monday is predicted to have a high around 81. That beautiful, sunny weather will continue into the start of next week, too.
