LI Weather: Thunderstorms And Plummeting Temperatures Today

The rain could stick around, and temperatures are going to fall steeply this afternoon.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Thursday looks to be cold and rainy for most of Long Island.

According to the National Weather Service, the rain could stick around for most of the day, and there's the possibility of thunderstorms throughout the day.

AccuWeather's forecast shows that thunderstorms could start as early as 11 a.m.

And temperatures are going to plummet as well. It will hit about 75 degrees around 11 a.m., and then temperatures will fall to around 66 for the rest of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

There could also be wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour, which could damage trees and cause unsecured items to blow away.
