LI Weekend Weather: Mix Of Rain And Sun Could Dampen Plans

Saturday will be warm but rainy, while Sunday will be clear and cool, according to forecasts.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders are in for a mixed weekend, with both rain and sun in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will be warm but rainy, with a high of nearly 60 degrees. Rain could start Friday night, but will definitely be here by Saturday morning and last through most of the day. The storm should pass by the evening, though.

Sunday, however, will be clear but cooler. The high is expected to be around 45 degrees, but skies will be sunny.

That clear weather will continue into Monday, but there's more rain coming early next week.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 48. South wind 5 to 9 mph.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers after 4 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a temperature rising to around 49 by 5 a.m. South wind 7 to 11 mph.

Saturday: Showers, mainly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. High near 58. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31.
