LI Weekly Weather: Possible Flooding, Thunderstorms Could Hit Areas
Low-lying areas could face minor flooding this week, as high temperatures and possible thunderstorms move in as well.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders along the coast may have to worry about flooding early this week, before high temperatures and possible thunderstorms roll across the area.
The National Weather Service issued a notice to watch for flooding in low-lying coastal areas of Nassau County Monday night, from 6 to 9 p.m. Brief, minor flooding may occur near flood-prone areas near the waterfront and shoreline. Flooding is also possible during the high tides on Tuesday and Wednesday, the service said.
In addition to the chance of flooding, there's also a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday. Thunderstorms are more likely Tuesday night, according to forecasts.
