Library Board Meeting, Movie Night on Tap This Week

A members' choice movie at the Pool, a tag sale, library board meeting and more.

Members Choice Movie Night: After weeks of voting, Garden City Pool members have selected "E.T." as their "members' choice movie" for Tuesday. The film will be featured in the Pool's picnic area beginning at 8:15 p.m. Admission is $2 for members and $4 for guests. Those who purchased a tie-dyed Garden City Pool T-shirt, however, get free admission. Please note that "OZ: The Great and Powerful" came in a close second and will be the featured film on Friday, Aug. 16.

Library Board Meeting: The Garden City Library board of trustees will be discussing budget issues, including the surplus in the State Retirement System from the 2012-13 budget, at its meeting on Monday at 7:30 pm.

LICM Show: "The Chicken Show" is playing at the Long Island Children's Museum (LICM) Monday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Meet Henrietta, the singing chicken who longs to be a star on Broadway. The show is appropriate for children ages 3 and up. Buy tickets online.
