Man Charged For Fleeing Uniondale Crash That Sends 1 Person To Hospital: Police
It was also determined that Eduardo Lopez Lago is in the U.S. illegally and he was turned over to ICE agents, police said.
UNIONDALE, NY — A Uniondale man was arrested for a collision that took place on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Eduardo Lopez Lago, 30, who was driving a 2007 Toyota, was involved in a crash with a 2011 Chevrolet that was driven by a 46 year old man, police said.
It happened at the intersection of Front Street and New Jersey Avenue in Uniondale.

Lago fled the scene on foot. The 46 year old victim was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Lago had two female passengers in his vehicle, ages 33 and 3. They were not hurt, police said.

On Wednesday, Lago was placed under arrest without incident, police said.
Further investigation determined the he is in the U.S. illegally and is subject to removal proceedings, authorities said.
Lago is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of an incident with injury, police said.
He was released on an appearance ticket and taken into custody by U.S Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents, police said.
