GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Aug. 3.
July 27
- Garden City detectives arrested a 29-year-old male for four counts of criminal mischief and two counts of assault at the Country Life Press railroad station.

- As a result of an investigation on Stewart Avenue, Officers arrested a 56-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).
July 29
- A vehicle was driven on the grounds of the Garden City High School, resulting in damage to the track area and a fence. Officers arrested the driver, a 24-year-old male, for DWI.
- Upon investigation of a dispute between a man and woman on Willow Street, Officers arrested a 22-year-old man for violating a stay-away court order. He was charged with criminal contempt.
- Officers investigated a report of a man entering CVS and stealing twelve cases of beer.
- Officers responded to a report of a fallen tree limb on Raymond Court.
- An unlicensed driver was charged with excessive speed on Rockaway Avenue.
July 30

- Upon investigation of a vehicle passing a red traffic light on Washington Avenue at St. James Street South, officers arrested the driver, a 45-year-old male, for driving with twelve suspensions, including one for a prior DWI, as well as passing a red light and improper plates.
- Officers investigated a report of a person’s identity being stolen and used to open an unauthorized cell phone account.
- While on patrol on Hilton Avenue, an officer saw a vehicle recently reported stolen from the Nassau County 1st Precinct. The vehicle was stopped and upon investigation, a 15-year-old juvenile occupant was arrested and charged with the theft of the car as well as unauthorized use of an auto. Two other occupants in the vehicle, a 16-year-old juvenile and an 18-year-old woman, were also arrested and charged with unauthorized use of an auto.
- Upon an investigation on Stewart Avenue by Garden City and Nassau County police, a 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of various narcotics. He was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
- A resident received a scam phone call from a person who stated her nephew was arrested in Maine. The resident determined it was a scam after verifying her nephew was safe at home and not arrested.
- Officers arrested a 52-year-old man for grabbing and kicking an acquaintance in Parking Field 7N. He was charged with harassment.
July 31
- Garden City detectives investigated the cashing of three fraudulent checks, totaling more than $500,000, against a Garden City Plaza company’s bank account.
Aug. 1
- A man entered the rear yard of a Meadow Street residence and stole a lawn chair.
- Officers investigated a report of two women leaving a Franklin Avenue restaurant without paying for their food and drinks.
- A Ring Road restaurant was issued an appearance ticket for loud music emanating from the premise in violation of the Village Code. The restaurant was issued a warning for the same violation earlier in the night.
- A driver was charged with reckless driving on Clinton Road after committing multiple aggressive driver violations.
Aug. 2
- Police are investigating a report of multiple unauthorized withdrawals from a resident’s bank account.
Aug. 3
- A Uniondale company was charged with the operation of a truck on Cathedral while leaking diesel fuel and being 17,400 pounds overweight.
- Officers investigated a report of an employee of a Garden City business receiving an email that appeared to be from his supervisor directing him to purchase Google money cards, scratch off the numbers, and forward them to the same email address. It was later determined this was a scam. Total loss is $1,600.
