CARLE PLACE, NY — Police arrested a man who they said was responsible for more than a dozen shoplifting cases across Nassau County dating to the summer.

Around 3 p.m. Monday, police officers were called for an ongoing theft at a T.J. Maxx store at 217 Glen Cove Road in Carle Place. By the time the officers arrived, the two men fled the scene. Officers canvassed the area and found a car matching a description of one that drove away from the store.

Officers pulled the car over near Glen Cove Road and Old Country Road and arrested Oreall A. Thomas, 47, and Shaun Williams, 52, both of Freeport.
