Nassau Woman Shoplifts At TJ Maxx With 2 Young Children: Police

The children were released into the custody of a family member, police said.

CARLE PLACE, NY — A Hempstead woman was arrested for a burglary at TJ Maxx on Tuesday evening, police said.

Shaina Thompson, 29, who was with two youngsters (ages 4 and 11), exited the store on Glen Cove Road without paying for several items, authorities said.

She was placed her under arrest without further incident.

All merchandise was recovered and there were no injuries were reported. The children were released into the custody of a family member.

An investigation revealed that Thompson violated a trespass ban that was issued on April 15, which prohibits her from entering all store locations.

She is charged with third-degree burglary and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. Thompson is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
