WESTBURY, NY — Long Islanders looking for an escape are soon going to have a new venue. A new escape room experience will be coming to Samanea NY, the former Source Mall in Westbury.

The shopping center just signed a lease with RYCO's Escape Room & Lounge. It will offer four escape room experiences, along with a bar/lounge area in the 4,297-square-foot space. It is expected to open in early 2023.

RYCO’s Escape Room & Lounge is billed as a premiere escape room and entertainment destination. It is co-owned by Long Islanders Ryan Clifford and Dakota "Cody" Oher, who are escape room enthusiasts. The duo have completed more than 250 escape rooms across all of North America.

“Ryan and I are excited to leverage our combined knowledge and passion to deliver a first-in-class, immersive experience to Long Islanders,” said Oher. “High customer demand for escape rooms continues, especially on Long Island, but only RYCO’s provides the extension of a social atmosphere through our bar and lounge. We’re confident that Long Islanders are going to enjoy the experience. Moving ahead, we plan to roll out additional locations. We will also prioritize engaging with the community by giving back and providing fundraising opportunities, hosting corporate events and parties, and generally being partners in Long Island's shared success.”
