Newly Elected House Homeland Committee Chair Tours Nassau Police Training Facility

"It was great to see our federal, state and local partners sharing information," Rep. Andrew Garbarino said.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — In the wake of last week's mass shooting in Manhattan that killed four people, including an NYPD officer, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman welcomed newly elected House Committee on Homeland Security Andrew Garbarino to tour the Nassau police Intelligence Center/Training Village.

They gathered with law enforcement officials for the county's "Terror Tuesday," where they "talk about tactics. To make networks and to collaborate together to make sure we have a safer region," Blakeman said.

"It was great to see our federal, state and local partners sharing information," Rep. Garbarino (R-Suffolk County) said. "This is something that didn't exist prior to 9/11."

Garbarino was also given a tour of the new state-of-the-art Nassau police Training Village, located in East Garden City.

"I'm doing to make sure that 9/11 never happens again," Garbarino said. "I told the county executive that whatever resources he needs, I'm going to get it for him."
