NICE Bus To Offer Free Metrocards To Social Service Agencies
The free program gives more than 17,000 rides each year.
GARDEN CITY, NY — NICE Bus will once again provide free Metrocards to clients of social service agencies.
With economic stress from inflation impacting low- and moderate-income households, riders of NICE Bus will once again have access to free public transportation through an annual program run by the United Way of Long Island and supported by NICE.
“Everyone Rides NICE” provides free rides through the distribution of MetroCards purchased by NICE and distributed to 14 participating Social Service agencies and higher education institutions in Nassau County.

The agencies determine client eligibility with an annual cap on usage.
The program, established in 2017, provides up to 18,000 free rides each year.
