Photo Exhibit, Dance Concert This Week

Leaf Collection Begins:  Village crews will begin their annual leaf collection Monday, Oct. 28, beginning in the eastern /Mott section of Garden City.

EAB Meeting: Garden City's Environmental Advisory Board meets Wednesday, Oct. 30 in the village hall boardroom beginning at 8 p.m. to discuss a full agenda.

Big Band Senior Citizen Dance Concert: Garden City School District resident senior citizens are invited to enjoy the sounds of Frank Benvenuto and the Village Music Makers Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Garden City High School cafeteria. The evening’s entertainment is free but residents must register their attendance by mail or in-person to the Office of Continuing Education (478-1070) at the Administration Building, 56 Cathedral Avenue, during regular business hours.

Absentee Ballots: The Nassau County Board of Elections is holding extended business hours Wednesday, Oct. 30, for anyone who needs an absentee ballot for the Nov. 5 election. Spooktacular Concert: The Friends of the Garden City Public Library presents a concert with Phyllis Fay Farmer, operatic mezzo soprano accompanied by pianist, Emily Olin Thursday, Oct. 31, between 2-3:30 p.m.

Photo Exhibit: The Tanners Pond Environmental Center's Bird Sanctuary is sponsoring a juried photography exhibit in collaboration with the Nature & Wildlife Photographers of Long Island Club at the Garden City Public Library beginning Friday. Nov. 1. The exhibition will be on view in the library's gallery and showcases through Nov. 28.

Dog Park Feedback: Residents can express their interest in a village dog park by visiting the Recreation and Parks Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue or calling the office at 465-4075 by Thursday, Oct. 31.
