Suspect Performs 'Lewd Act' In Front Of 16-Year-Old In Nassau County: Police

He drove up to the girl and was engaged her in a conversation at about 3:10 p.m., Nassau police said.

UNIONDALE, NY — A male subject drove up to a 16-year-old girl and performed a lewd act in Uniondale last Friday, Nassau police said Monday.

The girl was walking on Henry Street near First Place at about 3:10 p.m. when a male subject she did not know pulled up to her in a dark blue Mercedes four-door sedan with tinted windows and no front plate, and then he tried to have a conversation with her as he sat in the car, according to police.

During the interaction, the girl looked into the car and he began "performing a lewd act," police said.

The girl became frightened and ran and hid in a nearby bush, and the subject drove away in an unknown direction, police said. She 911 to report the incident to First Precinct after she returned home, according to police.

She was not injured.

Police have released security footage showing what is believed to be the sedan.

Police are investigating the crime as public lewdness.

The subject is described as having a skinny build, white t-shirt, blue/green shorts, and a possible Jamaican accent.
