Two Accused Of Shoplifting, Struggle At Macys In Garden City: Police

One of them had an anti-security device, Nassau police said.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Two Brooklyn men are accused of shoplifting Friday at the Macys on Old Country Road, Nassau police said.

Officers responded to the department store in Garden City at 5:42 p.m.

They were informed by a store employee that two men selected merchandise from the store shelves and attempted to leave without paying. One was stopped by the employee after a brief struggle, but the other ran away. A short while later, officers located the second man, placing him into custody without further incident, police said.

The first was identified as Horace Glenn, 33, and the second as Shamari Mcdonald, 22. Both live at 525 Wyona St.

All merchandise was recovered and no injuries were reported.

Glenn was charged with Robbery 3 rd Degree, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of an Anti-Security Item. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday.

Mcdonald was charged with Petit Larceny and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable July 2, 2024 to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
