Westbury Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk With Baby In Her Car: Police
Michelle Lopez faces charges that include endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated driving while intoxicated, police said.
WESTBURY, NY — A Westbury woman has been arrested and charged after driving while intoxicated with a baby in her vehicle, police said.
Just before midnight on Sunday night, Michelle Lopez, 22, was driving a white 2013 Honda Civic with no front license plate on Merrick Avenue near Stewart Avenue in Westbury, police said.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed that she had slurred speech, watery eyes and an odor of alcohol from her breathe, leading to positive results of a field sobriety test, police said.

Lopez was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported. The passenger, a three-month-old girl was released into the custody of a family member.
Lopez is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (child under 16), two counts of driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
