Local businesses and community groups are invited to sponsor sculptures, extend hours, and create Winterfest-themed experiences to help turn one of the quietest months into a busy, family-friendly celebration across the city.

Working with Geneva Police and Ontario County officials, the Humane Society removed the animals for treatment, where staff reported parasites, underweight cats, and ear infections but no visible injuries to the dog allegedly struck.
   

• Geneva board rejects zoning for event center (fingerlakes1.com) — The Geneva Town Board has rejected a zoning change for the proposed Castle Creek Lodging and Event Center on County Road 4 after neighbors raised concerns about traffic, noise, and disruption. Board members instead urged the owners to revise their plans to fit current zoning, while also moving ahead on a 3% occupancy tax, water district bond renewals, and new planning and zoning appointments.
