The owner of the exclusive 5 Hertford Street is planning to open a location near Union Square, according to a new report.

UNION SQUARE, NY — An exclusive private club that's a favorite of Britain's young royals is rumored to be opening a Union Square location, according to a new report.

The club at 5 Hertford Street is famously exclusive, with a strict dress code and an even stricter guest list. Robin Birley, the proprietor of 5 Hertford Street, plans to open his first U.S. outpost and bring the exclusive club to the Union Square area, multiple sources told Avenue magazine, which first reported the news.

The private members club at 5 Hertford Street is so secretive that it won't even disclose how much a membership costs. The exclusive spot is also known for its nightclub Lou Lou's, located in the downstairs of 5 Hertford Street.

"It’s a clubhouse along the lines of 5 Hertford Street in London, with some rooms for members above the club, which 5 Hertford does not have," an anonymous source told Avenue.

The club at 5 Hertford Street frequently attracts the wealthiest and most famous Brits to London's Mayfair neighborhood. Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, have both been spotted there, as have celebrities including Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and Lupita Nyong'o.
